At our head office on the Sunshine Coast.  Our first attempt at service is normally within 48 hours. That’s quick service. Same day service is also available on request.

Detailed Reporting

Our Clients are advised of service, progress or of any difficulties that include the history of attempts to serve and/or service of the documents. This is an invaluable resource should an attempt affidavit or affidavit of service become lost by a client and it needs to be reproduced, or simply as a point of reference for those files that might become lengthy due to numerous addresses attempted.

Reporting by email provides you peace of mind and accountability during this process. If for any reason we are unable to effect service immediately you will know up front valid reasons and our recommended course of action.

If anything is, or appears to be missing, our office will contact you directly and ensure this is rectified before the file is briefed to an agent for service.

Our Affidavits of Service are also subjected to a audit review ensuring the information contained within together with the dialogue reflects a true and accurate version of events.

Possession of Properties

We organise Agents and Locksmiths to attend properties to take vacant possession. We also liaise with the Bailiff’s office regarding taking possession and changing locks on occupied premises that are being served with warrants of possession.

Progress reports are provided via e-mail or phone, whichever you prefer, and are provided on a regular basis so that your file is run as efficiently as possible.

Field Calls

ABA Legal Document Service’s Field Call service is tailored to individual clients and is utilised for many reasons. Including discussions with debtors regarding outstanding debts, confirming the location of a person of interest, occupancy reports, to deliver notices and other legal correspondence when service is not required.

Examination Hearing Attendances

Our office has experienced staff able to attend Examination Hearings to all Courts between Caloundra and Noosa. Experienced in debt collection our team know the questions to ask and what to look for to enable a positive result for the creditor.

Fees

There are many variations in respect to service costs. Is the matter urgent? How many Defendants are to be served? Etc. The cost of a routine serve (a serve that is first attempted within 2-7 days of receiving the papers) can be as low as $70 and can go up to $200 and we recommend you obtain a quote so we can gauge the type of document and the particular area you require service.

Conditions of Service

  1. We operate a pick-up service on the Sunshine Coast only. This may incur a small fee.
  2. We accept email or original documents to be served and a photocopy plus any additional instructions or information we should be aware of.
  3. A photograph of the person to be served is helpful, but we recommend that you take a copy for you own records.
  4. We require written instruction to ABA Legal Document Service requesting to serve documents on your behalf. The Instructions must clearly state the name of the Defendant/Respondent being served and the address you wish us to serve the documents. Your Instructions must also contain your name, address, email and contact phone numbers.
  5. We will contact you immediately once the documents are served and invoice you within 24 hours of service.

Normal hours of trade

Office Hours: Monday - Thursday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Friday 8:00am - 1:00pm.
Process Serving Hours: Monday to Friday 7 am – 7 pm; Saturday & Sunday 8.00am to 5 pm (Arrangements to be made for service outside these hours if required)

  • No service on Public Holidays
  • 3 attempts at a minimum (we confirm for continuation of service)
  • Phone messages replied to within 2 hours
  • No refunds apply
  • Discounts negotiable for clients volume of work
